However, the book is much more than that: it is a history of the Brisbane River itself, from Aboriginal times to the present day, encompassing our association with the river through commerce, study, and recreation. As the name implies, much of it is told through the words and pictures of those who eye-witnessed the events and as such provides a valuable document for future generations on which to draw.
